Butterfly scales (solarized)

In a break from the flora in my area, I turned to the insect world. These scales were from a butterfly's wing. They end up as part of house dust a great deal of the time in my area, especially during the summer. A butterfly's (or moth's) wing is actually filled with these scales hanging perpendicularly off the face of the wing so there are really three edges hitting the air for lift as the insect flies. Once again, these things just make me think Creator must have fun putting this stuff ( "stuff" being all of us and our breathing neighbors of all kinds - two legged and four, skin, feather or fur) together. If it was my art, I know I would.
